PLYMOUTH PEOPLE GET GREAT CARE

The people of Plymouth are among the happiest. They simply get good care when they suffer from health issues. This is as compared with the other regions of England. In fact a survey has come up with these revelations. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) extensively reviewed health services and eventually ranked health trusts and social care services. This review was done on many areas of the country on a wide scale.

There were a number of things considered that included acute care, discharge from hospital, access to rehabilitation among other things. The city of Plymouth simply fared the best here. In fact even when talking about continuing care and support, it was Plymouth placed as the "best performing" of all cities. The place so much so has the least number of mortality ratios when compared with the others.

The other names that feature well in the list were Torbay and Devon ranked as "better performing". When it comes to stroke, it sees high mortality rate but mainly because of carelessness and lack of knowledge on part of the victim. A blood clot or a ruptured blood vessel are the reasons behind a stroke which affects a large part of the people in England and actually accounts as the greatest single cause of serious disability. Partial paralyses, impaired co-ordination, loss of sight and language difficulties are among the problems that a person may have to deal with because of this. Thus, early diagnosis is needed on part of the patient and so are immediate and effective treatments which can actually save a patient’s life and get him back to complete good health. Plymouth Hospitals Trust, NHS Plymouth and Plymouth City Council adult social care are the places that provide with care services to patients and victims in the city of Plymouth.

Derriford Hospital simply goes a step ahead and offers direct admission for patients to a specially placed stroke unit. Here the patient is looked after by a specialist team of doctors, nurses and physiotherapists. This apart the services of dedicated speech, language and occupational therapists are also taken. Clot-busting drug thrombolysis is given to patients with strokes caused by a clot. But then Plymouth is given low marks for helping the patients return back home fast by giving extra support to them.
